Battery Troubleshooting
If your camera, camcorder, laptop or other electronic device is not recognizing your new battery or if your battery is not charging correctly, please try the following steps:
Review the Battery Chemistry and Maintenance page. Inspect the contacts on the battery, and electronic device. Be sure the contacts are clean and free of debris or packing materials. Blowing on the contacts or cleaning the contacts with a cotton swab is often effective. Insert the battery in the unit or charger and fully charge and discharge three times. It is normal for the battery to only hold a partial charge the first few times through the charge/discharge cycle. This process will often allow the battery to synchronize with your camera, camcorder, laptop or other electronic device. If your battery doesn’t respond to the steps outlined above, you may have received a defective battery. Please call us at (435) 755-0700 or email us at RMA@batteryheads.com to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Battery exchanges must have an RMA number to be processed. Completing all of the above steps will help avoid delays in using your battery and minimize unnecessary shipping charges.
